Join us as we welcome our friends from DESTIHL Brewery for a night of some of their best Goses and highest quality year-round offerings. We'll also be tapping a couple specialty sours such as their Saint Dekkera Reserve Sour: Anastasie & Saint Dekkera Reserve Sour: Fraise. Gio from DESTIHL will be in house from 5p-8p for all of your sample & swag needs.

Join us for HopCat Ann Arbor's 1st annual Bangerz Ball Beer Dinner! A little different from our regular Beer Dinners: this time we will be featuring 3 different breweries and serving 6 amazing courses put together by Chef Mark! First course will begin at 7pm sharp and seating is first come, first serve. Don't be late!

You don’t have to go to Germany to partake in the celebration of the worlds most well known beer festival. HopCat will bring it to you! We’ll be pouring our favorite local and authentic imported  Oktoberfestbiers, and serving our favorite German inspired food specials. Guests are encouraged to wear their best lederhosen or dirndls. We’ll also be giving away a limited amount of Oktoberfest steins (while supplies last) so get there early!

A little history from the official Oktoberfest website - "Why is Oktoberfest called "Oktoberfest" when it actually begins in September? 

The historical background: the first Oktoberfest was held in the year 1810 in honor of the Bavarian Crown Prince Ludwig's marriage to Princess Therese von Sachsen-Hildburghausen. The festivities began on October 12, 1810 and ended on October 17th with a horse race. In the following years, the celebrations were repeated and, later, the festival was prolonged and moved forward into September.

By moving the festivities up, it allowed for better weather conditions. Because the September nights were warmer, the visitors were able to enjoy the gardens outside the tents and the stroll over "die Wiesen" or the fields much longer without feeling chilly. Historically, the last Oktoberfest weekend was in October and this tradition continues into present times."

Oktoberfest Beer Dinner



Join us as we welcome our friends from HofBräuHaus for a 5 beer tasting paired with a 4 course meal put together by our wonderfully talented chefs! Welcoming Beer is poured at 7pm sharp and seating is first come, first serve! Don’t be late!


Welcoming beer:  HofBräu Original – Munich Helles Lager – 5.1%


First Course: Obatzten – Camembert Cheese melted w/ caramelized onion and lightly seasoned. Served w/ warm bread and pretzels for dipping!

Paired w/  HofBräu Dunkel – Dunkelweizen – 5.5%


Second Course:  Bibbelsche Bohnesuppe – A traditional German soup. Made of a hearty melody of potato, bacon and onions

Paired w/  HofBräu Oktoberfestbier – Märzen – 6.3%


Third Course: Grilled Abraham Speck – Speck Ham lightly grilled with caramelized leeks, spiced butternut squash and an ice wine reduction.

Paired w/  HofBräu Delicator – Dopplebock – 8.1%


Dessert:  Apfel Überraschung – Luscious baked apples filled w/ beer infused creme

Paired w/  HofBräu Hefe Weizen – Hefeweizen – 5.4%
